Not made of sugar? Prove it this summer with AEGEE-Tartu! Join the Summer University “Survivors of the forEST” from 1 to 14 August 2025 and explore Estonia’s wild side!
GT: What is the title and what is the main topic of your SU this year?
AEGEE-Tartu: The title of our SU this year is “We’re not made of SUgar: Survivors of the forest”, and the main topic is nature and self-development through green skills and self-discovery. And of course, learning about Estonia—its history and culture!
GT: Why did you choose the topic?
AEGEE-Tartu: We chose this topic because we wanted to showcase the immense beauty of Estonian forests and how different the Northern European wilderness can be. And honestly—what better place to discover your strengths and grow as a person than in the forest?

GT: What will be the greatest thematic programme highlights?
AEGEE-Tartu: We believe our nature-themed activities will be the strongest part of the SU. We’ve planned a multi-day stay in the forest to really immerse ourselves in nature, focus on self-discovery, and learn new skills along the way.
GT: Which cities and landmarks will you visit?
AEGEE-Tartu: We’ll be visiting Estonia’s biggest cities and getting to know them up close. Each town—Tallinn, Pärnu, and of course Tartu—has its own unique charm and set of activities that suit every type of participant, from educational and immersive city tours to the super fun pub crawls we have planned.
GT: What else will you do for fun?
AEGEE-Tartu: For those looking for even more adventure, we’ve highlighted the best spots in each city on our homepage. There you’ll find our favorite cafés, museums, points of interest, and more!

GT: How much is the fee and what is included in it?
AEGEE-Tartu: The fee this year is 224 Euro and includes at least two meals a day, a comfy roof over your head, and two weeks full of excellent and varied activities all across Estonia.
GT: How much is the optional fee and what is included in it?
AEGEE-Tartu: The optional fee is 50 Euro and includes a visit to the absolutely amazing PROTO Discovery Centre in Tallinn, as well as the super fun mini-golf hub and Adventure Park in Pärnu!
GT: Who is the ideal participant?
AEGEE-Tartu: The ideal participant is someone who wants to (re)connect with nature, find their inner superhero, and become a better version of themselves. Someone who isn’t afraid to hike through the forest and step out of their comfort zone to experience all we have to offer.
GT: What can you tell us about your AEGEE local? What makes it special or famous?
AEGEE-Tartu: AEGEE-Tartu is home to some of the best people Europe has ever seen. We’re a tight-knit community that always comes together to have a great time. We’re one of the most renowned student organizations in Tartu, well known for our cultural and nature-themed events.
